TRACK & FIELD CAMP – 2023
The primary purpose of this camp is to provide high school track & field athletes with event-specific instruction in the sprints, hurdles, jumps, pole vault, throws and 400m-800m runs. We will cover the basic principles of training in each event as well as proper technique and form drills. Our desire is to help athletes build a solid foundation in the technical aspects of their events for the upcoming track & field season.
DATE: SATURDAY, February 25, 2023
CAMP TIMES: SESSION 1 (Hurdles, Sprints, 400m-800m Runs, Shot Put) – 9AM – 12NOON
**Check-in at 8:45am in the Rowenhorst Student Center
SESSION 2 (Long Jump, Pole Vault and High Jump) – 1PM – 4PM
**Check-in at 12:45am in the Rowenhorst Student Center
LOCATION: Northwestern College Indoor Track Practice Facility located in the Rowenhorst Student Center (near Taco John’s on Hwy 10)
COST: $55 per session
**Includes Camp T-shirt (meal is not provided for those doing both sessions)
**Several local restaurants within walking distance (Taco John’s, Hardees, Subway, 88 Chinese)
REGISTRATION: Each athlete can register for up to ONE event per session (i.e. Session 1 – Hurdles; Session 2 – Long Jump). Spots for each event offering will be guaranteed to the first 12 athletes who register.
* Deadline to register is WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2023! *
WHAT TO BRING: Workout clothes, water bottle, running shoes, and spikes or event-specific shoes.
(*Indoor Shot for those throwing in Session 1.)
T&F VISIT DAY: We are also offering a T&F Visit day on Friday, February 24 for all Juniors and Seniors that are interested in checking out Northwestern College. You would have a campus visit on Friday, stay overnight with a T&F athlete and then participate in our T&F Camp on Saturday. It's a great opportunity to experience NWC from a student-athlete perspective! Let us know if you are interested in the T&F Visit Day!
